Konstantin KOROVIN (1861-1939)
In Russia (Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow) the Korovin’s painting exhibition has a great success now.
K. Korovin is well-known with his brilliant talent and rich pictorial colouring. Korovin was a pupil of A.K. Savrasov, V.G.Pryanishnikov, E.S. Sorokin, Polenov. Such artists as M. Vrubel and V. Serov were among his nearest friends and colleagues. It is possible, that he was upon influence of I.E. Repin, who was teacher of V. Serov. Konstantin’s elder brother – painter Sergey Korovin was person who direct him in his first steps.

K. Korovin is a painter, whos palette was formed also upon his Franch contemporaries influence. Sometimes
he visited Paris, where, while being learning works of ancient and contemporary painters, he thought hard about colour-tint balance in painting. In spite of lightness and brightness of his works, it is widely known, that such impression based upon deep analysis of his own experience, cultural and arts traditions. Korovin’s followers were S.V. Gerasimov, B.V. Ioganson, N.P. Krimov. We may consider them as the founders of the Korovin’s Scool, which works today too.
Konstantin Korovn leaved a lot of works, which are placed in different Russian (and other countries) museums and private collectons.
